Jordan Brooks Chatfield was born and raised in San Diego, CA. After graduating Torrey Pines High School in 2002, Jordan enrolled at the University of Southern California as a philosophy major, with an emphasis in ethics, law, and value theory. Jordan greatly enjoyed his time at USC, as he was able to explore a wide variety of interests. He joined the Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity, as well as USC’s Music Industry Connection while working as a DJ for USC’s KSCR radio. His favorite class at USC was “Introduction to Music Law.” It was during this class that Jordan realized that he wanted to be involved with entertainment law.
Jordan graduated USC in May 2006 with a B.A. in Philosophy and minors in both English – Creative Writing and Music Industry. He enrolled in Southwestern University School of Law in August 2006 to pursue an education in entertainment law. While at Southwestern, Jordan was highly involved, particularly with the school newspaper The Commentator as he acted as the Online Editor and a Staff Writer for the Sports Column.
His article on gender roles in the sports industry won 2nd prize as “Best Article of 2007-2008” school year. His favorite class at Southwestern was Jurisprudence; he believes this class gave him a greater understanding of how the law has evolved and another perspective to his studies of the law.
Jordan graduated Southwestern in May 2009 and became licensed to practice law in the state of California in December 2009. Jordan joined the Business and Legal Affairs department at GRB Entertainment as Counsel in February 2011; prior to joining GRB, he worked in the Business and Legal Affairs department of VH1, where he focused on unscripted television production.
Jordan’s activities and interests include playing piano, creative writing, reading philosophy, playing tennis, and following all major sports and the music industry. He cites his experience skydiving over the Swiss Alps in July 2007 as a perspective-altering experience (see picture on left). His favorite book is Shantaram by Gregory David Roberts.
